KAI works with communities to develop transportation alternatives for all types of facilities, including roadway and transit corridors, intersections, and interchanges. KAI recognizes there are many possible project outcomes to promote livability in our communities by way of sound transportation elements. Our team is made up of experts in multimodal transportation planning, traffic engineering, land use planning, urban design, transit planning, graphic storytelling, and visioning and community outreach. We bring the multidisciplinary viewpoint necessary to successfully engage multiple perspectives in crafting alternatives and demonstrating their technical merits, and developing implementable and financially realistic plans that communities feel proud of and can champion through implementation.
KAI applies performance-based tools such as the Highway Safety Manual (HSM), Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), and Transit Capacity and Quality of Service Manual (TCQSM) methodologies to support data-informed decision-making for transportation solutions.
